MLB Betting Online: Two of the best hitting teams in baseball square off in a nationally-televisedshowdown on ESPN Monday night.

Texas is without question atop every pundit’s and handicapper’s power rankings. The Rangersare 12-3 overall and have earned 7.32 units for their baseball odds backers, which is the highestprofit of any team in MLB.

With a stacked lineup from top to bottom, no one is surprised Texas leads the majors in runs pergame (6.07), average (.307) and on-base plus slugging percentage (.870). The Rangers haveplated an average of 9.2 runners during their last five outings.

"I've never seen a team as aggressive as they are right now -- at the plate, on the bases, everything," said Justin Verlander after he beat the Rangers 3-2 in the second game of aSaturday doubleheader. "They've got a great lineup, and they are locked in, so they are trying tokill every pitch."

What has been surprising is the stellar pitching. The staff has a 2.55 ERA and 12 quality startsby the rotation ranks first in the bigs. Neftali Felix became the first starter to lose a decisionthis season on Saturday, but he still had a great outing with 8.0 innings pitched and three runssurrendered.

Colby Lewis was set to take on Drew Smyly in the series finale against Detroit on Sunday wherethe Rangers were -135 chalk.

Lefty Derek Holland will climb the hill Monday night coming off two great starts against theMariners and Red Sox. He only surrendered two runs in each while striking out eight and seven, respectively. But Holland has never fared well against the Yankees, holding an 0-4 record and a9.00 ERA in five regular season starts and one relief appearance.

Those numbers might not improve considering the Yankees are absolutely tearing the cover offthe ball right now. They’ve scored no fewer than five runs in their last five games and beat Boston15-9 Saturday as +111 baseball odds underdogs.

New York was down 8-0 in that contest before scoring all 15 of its runs in the 6th, 7th and 8thinnings. The Bronx Bombers seem to be just as locked in as Texas and confidence is high.Oddsmakers may not be able to put up a run total large enough for this matchup.

The Yanks sent ace CC Sabathia to the mound on Sunday to try and complete a sweep of theRed Sox. Hiroki Kuroda will have the unenviable task of trying to slow the Rangers bats here.Kuroda is 1-2 this season with a 5.00 ERA. Russell Martin said Kuroda has been leaving toomany pitches up in the zone, and if that isn’t fixed Texas will take advantage.

Yankees were 9-3 in their last 12 outings going into Sunday and are just barely in the black interms of betting profit.
