Evan MacKay’s obsession with sports has been a lifelong affair, full of the deflating losses and feverish victories that define fandom. He soon developed a love for the written word, a passion that led him to the University of Oregon where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English and a certificate in Film Studies. In his time there, Evan developed an even greater appreciation for sports through the electricity of Autzen Stadium and Ducks Football, all while developing a distinct writing ability through his English studies.

Evan soon started work as an Oregon columnist for a college sports website, developing a cohesion between his passions for writing and sports. Maintaining his own blog, Evan wrote on all things college sports, with a direct focus on University of Oregon athletics. Now, Bookmaker gives him the opportunity to parlay his passion for professional sports into weekly articles. Evan currently covers NASCAR and the NFL, and has also written on the WNBA, tennis, and boxing.
